Dromm Attends MAKE THE ROAD Grand Opening

District Leader Daniel Dromm attended the grand opening of the local headquarters of Make the Road New York at 92-10 Roosevelt Avenue on Sunday, February 1, 2009. He helped officiate at the ribbon cutting ceremony. Dromm spoke in Spanish calling for "equal rights and economic justice for all the residents of the 25th Council District." In ending his speech, Dromm energized the crowd enough to get everyone to chant - "Si se puede! Si se puede!"
Make the Road New York promotes economic justice, equality and opportunity for all New Yorkers through community and electoral organizing, strategic policy advocacy, leadership development, youth and adult education, and high quality legal and support services.
Make the Road New York has centers in Bushwick, Brooklyn, Woodside and Jackson Heights, Queens and Port Richmond, Staten Island. Their membership comes largely from these and neighboring communities, but their advocacy work has citywide reach. Their mission is to improve the lives of all low-income New Yorkers.
